Clinical Background
David Cornwell is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist with over twenty years’ experience working in the fields of addiction,  trauma, embodiment, mindfulness, and psychological change.
He has trained extensively in mindfulness-based and body-centred psychotherapy, including postgraduate training at University of Oxford in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. He holds two postgraduate degrees in mindfulness-based psychotherapy, which inform the integration of mindfulness, embodiment, and trauma-informed work within the intensive therapy protocol.
David has also worked as part of an integrative clinical team at The Balance Rehab Clinic, supporting individuals with addiction and complex mental health presentations.Â
His work draws on a combination of embodied psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches, delivered within a careful, ethical, and relational framework.

A Note on Fees and How I Work
My fees reflect both the nature of the work and the way my practice is structured.
A significant part of my practice involves working with entrepreneurs, senior leaders, and individuals carrying high levels of professional, financial, and organisational responsibility. These clients often choose to work intensively, with multiple sessions per week, either for focused periods or as part of an ongoing therapeutic process.
This work is typically bespoke and concierge in nature. It may include flexible scheduling, the ability to adjust session times as demands shift, and a level of responsiveness that supports complex professional, personal, and family systems. In some cases, and subject to availability, I may also travel to work in person with a client at their home or another agreed private location. This is arranged on a case-by-case basis and forms part of the bespoke nature of this work.
The intensity, flexibility, and personalisation of this service are reflected in my fees.

Lower-Fee Therapy Options
Alongside my specialist and intensive work, I reserve a small number of lower-fee therapy places for individuals for whom my standard fees would otherwise make therapy inaccessible.
These places are intended for working individuals on ordinary incomes, such as those in salaried or hourly employment, including people working in education, healthcare, hospitality, maritime and yachting roles, office-based work, and similar professions.
Lower-fee places are limited, offered subject to availability.
Where available, this work is offered as weekly therapy (one session per week) and is designed for medium-term therapeutic work, typically over several months.
If you are seeking therapy and would like to enquire about availability in these places, please contact me directly.
